Guildford music legends Mick ‘Duggo’ Douglas and John Kelly, plus lesser legend David Rose, are gigging at Jacobs Well Village Hall club on Saturday, April 19.

Expect a night of hit songs from the 1950s and 60s, with swashbuckling guitars and lush vocal harmonies – well, that’s one way to describe it!
The club opens at 7.30pm, all welcome with non-members to pay £1 temporary membership, the benefit being reasonably priced drinks.
The lads go under the name of the somewhat appropriately named A Rose Between Two Thorns, and are known for their other show, Guildford the Rock ‘n’ Roll Years.
John Kelly, David Rose and Mick Douglas end their set at one of their previous Guildford the Rock ‘n’ Roll Years shows.
That’s an illustrated talk about the Guildford live music scene back in the 1950s and 60s, a time when Mick and John were starting out on their music careers.
That show concludes with the three of them playing some songs from that era. However, as they enjoy the music so much, now they perform a whole evening just of music, as the gig will be at Jacobs Well club.
Back in the day, Mick and John were in a band called the Crescendos and later went over to West Germany to hone their talents as professional musicians.

Mick Douglas has played in numerous Guildford bands including Chris Ravel and the Ravers (with John Kelly), the Stormsville Shakers, Razzle Dazzle, and many more… Currently he plays with three other bands, besides playing with David Rose and John Kelly.

David Rose adds: Thanks Sheila, see you on Saturday, April 19.
