Yoga and fitness brand lululemon is the latest retailer to sign up for the new Tunsgate Quarter development.
Though lululemon currently has a presence in Guildford in Swan Lane, the new 1,815 sq ft Tunsgate Quarter store will be its first UK store outside London to feature its entire range of technical athletic apparel. The new shop will also transform into a studio space each week, offering complimentary yoga and fitness classes led by local trainers.
Founded in Vancouver in 1998, the first lululemon shared its retail space with a yoga studio. Products are designed for and with athletes, and aim to blend function and fashion, using innovative, high-performance fabrics to support yoga, running, training and ‘most other sweaty pursuits’.
lululemon joins a growing line-up of brands in signing on at the new 80,000 sq ft retail and restaurant development, scheduled to open in Spring 2018, which includes Loaf, OKA, The White Company, Cath Kidston, Bobbi Brown and The Ivy Collection, which will start fitting-out in the coming weeks.
Chris Daly, senior leasing manager at developers Queensberry, said: “This latest announcement demonstrates the consistent quality of the exciting line-up we’re creating at Tunsgate Quarter. lululemon Athletica is very much in line with the unique retail and leisure destination we’re creating in Guildford. The community is at the heart of this scheme and we know lululemon Athletica will appeal to Guildford’s local and wider catchment.”

I imagine it won’t be opening for a while.
It was this comment that led to the article: Tunsgate Quarter Has Only One-Third of Its Units Let As Opening Nears https://guildford-dragon.com/2017/12/12/tunsgate-quarter-one-third-units-let-opening-nears/. We are grateful to Anna Marie Davis for her observation. Ed
