A man was assaulted in Bridge Street in the early hours, last Saturday (Aug 15) by a stranger following a row. Surrey Police officers are now appealing for witnesses.
The man was leaving Bar 13 in Bridge Street around 1.30am and was walking past the YMCA on his way to the taxi rank at the railway station when he was assaulted by a man not known to him following a verbal altercation.
The victim suffered swelling to his left eye and a small cut to the bridge of his nose. The suspect has then made off on foot with another man and a woman.
The suspect has been described as male, 20-25 years, 5ft 11 tall, of a slim build, and wearing jeans and a pastel coloured tee-shirt.
Officers investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.
