Man Charged With Attempted Murder Appears In Court

A 31-year-old man from Guildford charged with the attempted murder of a man, following an incident at a property in the town on Monday (April 20), has appeared before magistrates in Guildford yesterday (Wednesday, April 22).

Matthew Knott of York Road has been remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on May 7.

He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 42-year-old man was discovered with serious neck injuries at an address in Sydenham Road.

A 19-year-old woman, also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the property, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital.
