A man in his 30s died this morning (September 10) in a vehicle collision in Ockham, involving a white van.

Surrey Police is appealing for help to establish what led to a fatality.

The incident happened on Ockham Road North, near to the junction with Long Reach Road but it’s unclear what time the collision, involving the Vauxhall Astra van, occurred.

A passing member of the public saw the van off the road and reported it at around 7am.

The driver, a man in his 30s, was declared dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.

Sergeant John Clarke from the Roads Policing Unit said: “This is a quiet road at night time, however we’re hoping that someone may have seen the van there earlier than when it was reported at 7am, as it’s clear that it had already been there for some time.

“It’s also equally important that we hear from anyone who may know more about exactly what happened.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
