An alley in Pannells Court, off Chertsey Street, where David Lucid was said to have been found

Fifty-one-year-old David Lucid of no fixed abode died in the early hours of Saturday morning (11 August). Following the incident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday (7 August), he had been taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting where his condition was, at one stage, reported as critical but stable.

A Post Mortem revealed the cause of death was a severe head injury but the injury was not deemed to be suspicious. The death is now under the jurisdiction of the coroner.

An inquest into the death was opened and adjourned this morning (Monday, 13 August).

The police statement said: “Two men, a 23-year-old man from Woking and a 20-year-old man from Guildford, who were on bail after being arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, have been released with no further action due.”
