Merrow Man Charged in Connection with GuilFest Assault

James Alexander Wallington, 32, of Great Goodwin Drive, Bushy Hill, Guildford was charged on Friday, 31 August with GBH.

The charge is in connection with an assault that took place on Friday, 13 July around 6.30pm as the victim, a man in his 40s and his family were making their way home along Kings Road in the town. They had attended the GuilFest event.

The victim a man in his 40s has since been released from hospital but faces a long recovery.

James Wallington has been remanded in custody to appear before South West Surrey Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 1 September.

Police officers continue to appeal to anyone with information on the assault to contact them on 101 quoting reference GD/12/6309 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
