Murder Suspect Transferred to Police Custody As Victim Identified

A woman who died following an incident in Farncombe on Sunday has been formally identified as 79-year-old Mary Steel, of Wey Court.

Officers were called to the address at around 9.20am following reports of a concern for safety on Sunday, October 29 (2017) where she was found with a serious injury. Despite treatment at the scene by paramedics, she was pronounced dead around 10.10am.

A man who had been arrested on suspicion of murder and then admitted to hospital earlier this week, has now been transferred to police custody.
