Shopping is thirsty work, fortunately Guildford has no fewer than 29 town centre cafes (Experience Guildford) and that doesn’t include restaurants, bars and fast food outlets.
But it seems the market is not yet thought to be saturated. European-style coffee house, Caffè Nero, is opening a new branch on North Street on Monday 11th November.
This will be the third Nero in Guildford, the others are on the High Street and in House of Fraser, coming close to Costa’s four.
A spokesperson for Caffè Nero said: “We aim to provide a European style coffee house experience offering premium espresso-based gourmet coffee, and a relaxing neighbourhood feel in store. We will be recruiting nine local people, who will be employed as baristas in the store, making a selection of espresso-based drinks for the local community.
“The team at our existing store on Guildford High Street were recently shortlisted for a ‘Best Customer Service’ award by Experience Guildford.”
The new shop will occupy part of the building previously used by Blacks on the corner of North Street and Market Street.
