The former chief executive officer (CEO) of Guildford Borough Council, David Hill, who was sent on “special leave” for three months, then paid off with a £160,000 lump sum before an investigation into a grievance complaint was completed, has become the new chief for Humber NHS.
According to the NHS trust’s website:
“Humber NHS Foundation Trust has appointed David Hill as its new chief executive who stepped into the role following the retirement of David Snowdon at the end of June.
“This is David’s first NHS appointment although he is no stranger to the health service having worked in partnership with NHS organisations in his previous local authority senior management and chief executive roles.
“Commenting on his new role, David said he was grateful to the chairman and board for giving him the opportunity to lead the Trust into the next phase of its development.
“It’s a privilege and a very exciting one,” said David. “I have already met many of our staff and partners and know that I am joining a really strong team, committed to serving the local community.
“We will need to continue transforming ourselves to face the challenges affecting all public and health services and exploit the opportunities that being a foundation trust gives us. However, I am committed to ensuring that we continue to deliver the highest standards of patient care and safety.
“Together with my family I am really looking forward to moving to such a beautiful part of the country and I can’t wait to get started.”

New niches are usually found.
The other day I saw that the former Chief Operating Officer of the BBC, Caroline Thomson, who left them with a redundancy pay-off of £670,000, (source Wikipedia) has become a non executive director of the NHS Trust Development Authority.
