Two night of great jazz music are coming up in February in Farncombe and Guildford.
There will be an extraordinary evening of the finest contemporary improvisation from iconic British tenor saxophonist Tim Whitehead at Jazz@TheCavern at The Freeholders in Farncombe, on Wednesday, February 12.
Acknowledged as an exquisitely tasteful and intense world-class player, Tim will perform the music of Wayne Shorter, described by the New York Times as ‘probably jazz’s greatest living small-group composer and a contender for greatest living improviser’.

Consummate performer and hugely popular saxophonist Art Themen takes his renowned originality and individual style to the Jazz Cafe at the Electric Theatre, Guildford, on Sunday, February 19.
A winner of the 2008 British Jazz Awards, Art has been on the jazz scene since the late 1950s and was involved in the early London blues scene, playing alongside greats such as Alexis Kormer, Jack Bruce, Mick Jagger and Chuck Berry.
As well as fronting the Stan Tracey Quartet for 20 years, Art has played, toured and recorded worldwide with international luminaries including Alan Barnes, John Critchinson, Dave Newton, Georgie Fame, Don Weller and Mornington Lockett.
