Happy Café will return to the Boileroom on Saturday, December 17 from 11am to 3pm.
The first Happy Café was founded by Stan Rosenthal in Brighton, but has since grown into a nationwide project. Each one is unique to the community it serves, but all share the same initiative that the Happy Café is a friendly and welcoming place to meet people with a shared interest in promoting happiness and wellbeing.
There will be an opportunity to meet new people over tea, coffee and cake, and read some of the texts on happiness and wellbeing that will be on display.
There will also be a screening of the film The Economics of Happiness, a documentary about the costs of globalisation and the importance of focusing on real human and ecological needs through local community and nature.
Joanna Al-Zuhairi, from Rosamund Community Garden Guildford, located in Longdown Road, Pewley Down, will give a talk at 12.45pm on the background of the film.
Entry is free of charge. For more information visit www.theboileroom.net.
