Local historians and writers Geoff Burch and David Rose are again giving their popular illustrated talk on the life and photographs taken by the late David Salmon, who was a real Guildford character.
David Salmon took thousands of pictures of Guildford streets scenes, railways, buses, aircraft, Guildford City FC and more.
From his days when he started as an engine cleaner at Guildford, his National Service days in the RAF, working painting signs and lines in the roads around Guildford, and his amazing pictures of the changing scenes in Guildford over several decades, all this and more feature in Geoff and David’s illustrated talk.
It takes place at Fairlands Community Centre, Fairlands Avenue, Worplesdon GU3 3NA on Friday, October 21, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets £3 on the door. There will be an interval when refreshments will be served. Funds raised will go to local causes.
