High Clandon Estate Vineyard opens its new tasting and art venue, the Glass Barn, on Saturday, November 12, with an exhibition of art, sculpture and gifts.
The barn will be used for sparkling wine tastings, sculpture and art exhibitions.
The Spirit of Christmas exhibition – in support of the Cherry Trees charity for disabled children – will take place on Sunday, November 13 and on the weekend of November 19 and 20, from 11am to 4pm, and also by appointment only during the intervening week. Visitors will be welcome to view, taste and buy.
The opening, by the Mayor of Guildford, Gordon Jackson, also marks the release of High Clandon Estate’s latest sparkling wine, the 2010 Special Vintage Reserve Celebration Cuvée, named in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday and the recent marriage of vineyard owners Bruce and Sibylla Tindale’s son.
The wine has been ranked by Decanter Magazine as being one of the top two of 92 English sparklers tasted by a panel of Masters of Wine.
Entry will be by a £5 per person donation, to go to Cherry Trees. A percentage of the sales of art and wine will also go to the charity.
