Surrey Festival Choir presents a night of music from the world of grand opera at Dorking Halls on Saturday, July 15, at 7.30pm.
The programme will include arias and choruses by Verdi, Puccini, Mascagni and Bizet and Gounod’s ‘Saint Cecilia’ Mass.
The choir and orchestra will be conducted by Marcus Pashley.
It is the choir’s annual performance of traditional choral works, usually performed in Guildford Cathedral. As major refurbishment of the cathedral continues, they will be perform this year in Dorking, but plan to return to Guildford next year.
The chorus is typically made up of 200 enthusiastic singers, many from local choirs.
