Guildford’s Honorary Remembrancer Matthew Alexander will be running his popular series of local history lectures and visits to sites of historic importance again this year throughout the autumn and winter at Guildford Museum.
Based in and around Guildford town centre you will discover the town’s rich history and gain access to many of the fascinating historical sites of Guildford has to offer.
This twenty-week course gives an excellent overview of the development of Guildford through the ages.
For the first hour of each session, Matthew will provide an overview of the week’s particular learning topic before embarking on a tour, to explore the week historic site in detail.
The programme runs at Guildford Museum on Tuesday mornings between 10am to 12 noon with tea and coffee provided.
The course begins on September 18, and costs £110 for 20 sessions, broken down into two ten-week terms.
Pre-booking is essential and the fee can be split equally between the two terms. For more information and to book, please call Guildford Museum on 01483 444751 or email heritage services@guildford.gov.uk
“I would strongly recommend this course to anyone wishing to know more about our historic town. Thoroughly enjoyable, sociable and educational.”
Martin Giles, editor of The Guildford Dragon NEWS.
