Are you looking for a way to keep fit over the winter months?

If you’re thinking of taking up a new sport or hobby, either to keep fit or to improve your social life, why not visit Wey Valley Bowls Club, based on Lido Road in Stoke Park?

The club will host an open weekend between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30, for visitors to see their bowls facility and experience the friendly and welcoming environment.

The club was opened in 1972 and is often described as Guildford’s ‘hidden gem’.

It has a six-rink indoor bowls club and a ten-rink short mat facility and offers competitive and social bowling for people of all ages.

There is a well-stocked bar/café and the club area is also available to host small events, parties and meetings.

Indoor bowls is not just great exercise but a safe way to make friends and to become part of a community of like-minded people.

It’s a hobby that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and there are growing numbers of younger men and women taking up bowls competitively.
