White Lion Walk Shopping Centre is delighted to announce that it will be hosting its 10th Macmillan Coffee morning on Friday September 30 at Artington Park & Ride in Guildford.
From 7am until 10am (or while stock lasts), the centre management team from White Lion Walk will be teaming up with their retailers Starbucks and Millies Cookies to serve commuters a hot drink and sweet treat in return for a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan Coffee Morning is well known for being Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event. Since beginning in 1990, the coffee mornings have successfully raised over £138 million for Macmillan and they’re determined to raise more in 2016.
Over the past nine years White Lion Walk has raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support through its annual coffee mornings and the shopping centre’s team is hoping that 2016 proves as successful as always.
Steve Cotney, centre manager of White Lion Walk Shopping Centre, said: “I’m thrilled to be hosting our tenth Macmillan Coffee morning. There is now an estimated 2.5 million people living in the UK with cancer and this is expected to rise to 5 million by 2030. Just £100 can help a Macmillan nurse offer confidential support to those affected by cancer.
“It is a great privilege to be able to help raise funds for such a worthy cause and I encourage all local commuters and residents to pop down for a little coffee and cake on their way to work.”
