There’s no better time of year to dig out your unwanted clothing, to recycle it and help people keep warm.
Southeast Communities Rail Partnership (CRP), together with Voluntary Action South West Surrey, ZERO Guildford, and Hampshire Communities Rail Partnership (CRP) are encouraging people to share their unwanted winter clothing, to make sure it is reused rather than ending up in landfill.
This would not have been possible without the help of staff at Guildford railway station and Network Rail.
On Monday, December 2, Sara Grisewood from Southeast CRP and Lucy from Hampshire CRP, along with a team of volunteers recruited by Voluntary Action, will be at Guildford railway station from 8.30am to 12.30pm and 3pm to 6pm, accepting donations of pre-loved and in good condition, coats, jackets, scarves and gloves.
The event will take place in an empty shop unit kindly lent by Network Rai.. Look for signs and posters at the station.
There will be people on hand to direct you from the front of the station. The shop unit is located next the Hertz car rental shop by the taxi rank.
On Tuesday, December 3, from 10am to 4pm, will be the giveaway!
Anyone in need of extra warmth this winter is welcome to drop in, and choose some items for free.
The community rail officers and volunteers will also be on hand to help.
