Many congratulations to Sammy Nyokaye 1st male (1:02:41), Peter Limo 2nd male (1:02:43) and Paul Martelletti 3rd male (1:08:44). For the women, Mercyline Ondieki led in with a time of 1:15:12, Lucie Custance was a close second place in 1L15:24, and Jennifer McBain come in third. Prizes were awarded by Britain’s best 400m runner and local resident Roger Black. Harry Hyde was the first to cross the line in the kids’ race.

The day saw some fantastic personal achievements, with runners completing the 13.1 mile distance for the first time, or in a new best time for them.

IMG_6573A spokesman for Surrey Half Marathon said: “The children really got into the spirit of things and tried their very hardest, sprinting from the outset. Hopefully a new generation of runners has been created! Congratulations to all who took part.”

IMG_6599Funds were raised for the Surrey Half Marathon’s four key charity partners: Woking Sam Beare, WWF, Harrison’s Fund and Shooting Star CHASE, as well as a number of other worthy causes.

Race Director Toby Jenkins said: “We hope everyone has had a fantastic day. We would like to thank all of our event sponsors and the hard working volunteers, without whom none of this would be possible.”
