Surrey policeAn assault in Guildford town centre last weekend left a man with a fractured eye socket and cheekbone.

The incident took place on Sunday, July 21 around 3.20am near the Bedford Road open air car park. It is believed the 20-year-old victim was attacked by a man and a woman in the vicinity of the Casino night club shortly after it closed. Officers have spoken to a number of witnesses but believe there are others who could have further information which would progress their enquiries.

Detective Constable Adam Hewitt said: “The victim has suffered serious injuries after enjoying a night out. Our enquiries so far suggest that there would have been a few people standing around who might have seen what happened as the nightclub had just closed. I am appealing for any witnesses who might have seen the assault take place, or what led up to it, or any other information which might help our enquiries.”

If you can help, please contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting crime reference GD/13/6245 or, if you would prefer to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
