Roald Dahl’s classic and magical adventure, James and The Giant Peach will be brought to Onslow Village Hall Friday,November 29 to Sunday, December 1 by Pranksters Theatre Company in collaboration with The Curtain Raisers.
When James’ Mum and Dad are accidentally killed by a runaway rhino, he is sent to live with his two cruel aunties – Spiker and Sponge. One day he meets a mystical old man who gives him a bag containing “marvellous magical things”.
Next morning he discovers a huge peach has grown in his garden and the most incredible things start to happen; with his new friends, Centipede, Miss Spider, Ladybird, Earthworm and Old Green Grasshopper he sets off on the adventure of a lifetime!
Marie Gardner, chairman of the Pranksters Theatre Company, said: “Having played to full houses in Bramley village hall in 2012, this colourful and entertaining musical adaptation by David Wood, will be an ideal pre-Christmas outing for all the family. The audience will play an important role in building the story throughout to save James and his new found friends.”
