There is a new fast food outlet in Swan Lane, Guildford, Atto, serving Korean and oriental “fast and fresh” food. And there is a 15% discount until Thursday, October 7.
It opened Thursday, September 23. “It’s been really busy especially lunchtimes,” said Jarris Requiz, the head chef.
He added: “Nothing frozen, it’s all fresh. Our style is home-cooked food with a modern fusion. It gives it an extra something.”
Jarris studied culinary arts in Malaysia and is enthusiastic about what he is cooking. “Atto means gift in Korean. It’s working out well, everyone loves it,” he said with a big, welcoming smile.
Director Jae Lee said: “Guildford is ideal for us and we think it will be a great.”
Why Guildford? “Because its a great community. It is so friendly and diverse,” said Jason Nguyen, who was serving behind the counter.
Jae Lee said he would like to open up other restaurants as well but “we need this to take off first. It will take time”.
It was such a nice place to visit; clean, new and very welcoming. All of the staff were delighted to chat and tell me about what they were doing.
North Street and that end of Swan Lane is a very busy area. I think it’s going to be very popular.
It is open Monday to Saturday from 11.30am to 8.30pm, 15 to 17 Swan Lane, Guildford GU1 4EQ.
