A new fitness class incorporating aerobic climbing reps with cardio vascular floor work and low level exercises has been launched at Guildford Spectrum.
Rock Box Fitness promises to be an exciting and stimulating workout based on the new climbing walls that opened at Spectrum two months ago. There are 10 Rock Box elements to climb, each offering a different design, structure and challenge. From small wheels to different sized domes and face-to-face glass structures to a pole with platforms that turn as you climb, there is something to challenge every muscle and everybody.
Guildford Spectrum is run by Freedom Leisure. Its area manager, Steve May, said: “There is never a dull moment with Rock Box and the variety of walls and routes will keep you motivated and challenged throughout the session.”
Rock Box Fitness sessions are one hour long and should suit people of all fitness and climbing abilities as each exercise can be completed at an easy, moderate or extreme grade.
Participants receive a progress chart so they can track how may reps they do and the grade they reach – ready to improve at the next session.
Regular classes at Guildford Spectrum run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays both during the day and in the evenings. For more information on class times and descriptions visit the website http://www.high-sports.co.uk/rockbox/.
Advance booking for the classes is essential and on line via http://www.high-sports.co.uk/rockbox/book/.
