The wet and windy weather did not appear to be deterring voters around lunchtime today, but if turnout is down despite the importance of the issues at stake in this election the winter timing will be blamed.
This is how it looked at some of the polling stations in the borough, variously in the Guildford, Mole Valley and Woking constituencies.

Around the same time, a short distance away at The Spike, in Warren Road, it was there was a steady stream of voters observed.
In the south-west of the town, a short queue had formed inside at the URCH on Portsmouth Road, just before midday. Quite unusual.

In the east of the borough, part of the Mole Valley constituency, voting was described as slow and steady, at a similar rate to that observed in a borough council election. Here we see the entrance to the polling station in Effingham. Image Chris Dick.
And although the solitary person in the picture it was a similar story at East Horsley where, as across the borough, most voters, because of the rain, were arriving by car. Image Chris Dick.
