Strawberry Tea Party for Guests, Friends and Staff at Kings College

A sumptuous strawberry tea party was enjoyed by guests, friends and staff of Kings College in Park Barn on Monday afternoon.

It was held as a get together to celebrate the 58th anniversary of the opening of the senior school on June 23, 1955, and to mark the introduction of a new school logo.

Invited guests included people from the local community and from education.

The school’s principal, Kate Carriet, spoke about the increasing stability and progress being make at Kings College and its successful partnership with George Abbot School in Burpham.

Anna Wright, a former director of schools in Surrey and now an education consultant, and who knows the school well, said that Kings College is a beacon for never turning pupils away. She added that it has kept its identity for having community-based teachers who fully support children, helping them to change their often difficult lives.
