Surrey Police has been in included in a list of the country’s top 50 inclusive employers.
The force has been recognised for its continued dedication to workplace diversity, ranking as the fourth highest police force in the “Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers List”.
Demonstrating the promotion of all strands of diversity including Age, Disability, Gender, LGBT, Race, Faith & Religion; the list run by The Excellence in Diversity Awards, focuses on representation at management, senior, executive and board level.
Organisations featured have provided sufficient evidence on an amalgamation of topics including recruitment procedures, training and a host of diversity related initiatives.
At Surrey Police, the Association of Culture and Ethnicity provides a mentoring scheme to guide applicants from diverse communities through the recruitment process when joining the force.
Surrey Police has been ranked #28 out of all organisations in the list, reflecting the high standard to which they operate. Almost 100 submissions were received for this years’ list including British Airways, Ministry of Justice and ASDA.
Surrey Police Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Gavin Stephens said: “We are extremely proud to have been awarded this position in the Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers. This ranking shows our dedication to creating a diverse workforce and we will continue to work towards maintaining an inclusive organisation that is reflective of the communities we serve.”
