Collecting old picture postcards is a popular pastime, especially for anyone interested in local, social, family history and more.
The Surrey Postcard Club welcomes new members and hosts interesting speakers at its monthly meetings.
Meetings take place every third Wednesday of the month (except August) at the Friends Meeting House, Ward Street, Guildford GU1 4LH.
Click here for our Events by Date section that list forthcoming meetings.
Evenings begin at 7pm with a browse through dealers’ stock and members’ spares. Coffee and tea are provided and these are followed by members’ displays or invited speakers on various postcard related topics.
Proceedings normally wind up around 10pm.
Membership is £5 per annum.
The club’s annual fair takes place each November, held at St Peter’s School in Merrow.
There are more than 25 dealers offering thousands of postcards for sale on an infinite range of subjects. If you have any old cards for sale, take them along for a valuation. You may be surprised at what they are worth.
The club was started in 1979 by a few enthusiastic collectors and some of them are still members today!
