Surrey Table Tennis Association News December 2024

Shaquille Webb-Dixon (Wandsworth) picked up the player of the match award as Fusion beat Drumchapel Glasgow 6-1 in the Senior British Clubs League Premier Division.

Both Joseph Langham-Ferreria and Aaron McKibbin (Epsom) played in the Drumchapel Glasgow team with Aaron beating Lorestas Trumpauskas.

Francesco Bonato played in Fusion’s 6-1 loss to North Ayrshire.

In the latest round of the National Series, in the under-15 Boys Division 3 Noah Byrne-Smith (Epsom) won all five of his matches to top the division.

In the County Championship Senior Premier Division, Surrey lost to Yorkshire 6-4 and to Lancashire 6-4, but beat Leicestershire 6-4.

Despite a heavy defeat to Yorkshire, Surrey’s County Championship over 60s team in the Premier Division of Percy Collino (Ashford), Rupert Bole, Samson Bekele and Carmen Vajdi (New Malden) did well over the two days. They secured a vital 6-4 win over Lancashire and lost narrowly to Kent in a 6-4 defeat.

The Surrey cadet second team beat the third team 8-2. The second team consisted of Phoebe Chan, Hojeong Yoon (New Malden), Olivia Still, Hugo Rogers and Aryan Sarma (New Malden).

The third team consisted of Ava Selvaratnam, Evie Munk, Anirudh Anchan (South Croydon), Justin Kravets, Arjun Anchan (South Croydon).

The Limpsfield Club held its Mini Cadet and Cadet Open. In the under-11 Boys event Ethan Collins beat top seed Reyaan Singh in the final.

The consolation final was won by Oliver Willis. In the under 15 Girls top seed Sienna Svoboda beat Shinaya Singh.

Benjamin Willis won the under-13 event. Oliver Willis won the consolation.

Aarav Pahwa beat Benjamin Willis 3-1 in the under-15 Singles event.

Danny Abdalla won the under-15 Consolation event.
