At the ITTF Slovenia Para Open in Lasko, Surrey-based Aaron McKibbin and Joshua Stacey won gold in the Men’s Class 18 Doubles and Aaron reached the last 16 of the Men’s Class 8 Singles event.
The Jack Petchey Foundation Schools Table Tennis Individual Finals saw Eunice Lam (New Malden) of Surbiton High School win the Gold medal in the under 13 Girls’ event.
Alena Bondar (Sutton) from Overton Grange lost out in the semi-finals to Eunice 3-2 (11-3,11-6, 8-11, 10-12, 11-9).
Angad Saggu (Ashford) of Nishkam West London won gold in the under-16 Boys’ event.
Shing Him Yuen (Wallington) of Wallington County Grammar was runner-up in the under-19s Boys’ event.
N’fa Mahdi Corneh (Wandsworth) of Ernest Bevin reached the quarter-final of the under-19 Boys’ event.
Hon Tak Wong (Croydon) of Royal Russell School lost out at the quarter-final stage of the under-13 Boys’ event.
Kelly Ng (New Malden) lost out at the quarter-final stage in the under-16 Girls’ event.
Surrey’s second cadet team won Division 1A in the County Championships.
The team consisted of Eunice Lok You Lam, Akshita Subramanium (New Malden), Cheuk Ki Chow, Eesah Jamaluddin (New Malden), Hojeong Yoon (New Malden), Aryan Sarma (New Malden), Chun Hei Wong and Charlton Ngitngit, while the over- 60s first team won Division 1B and their team consisted of Rupert Bole, Percy Collino (Ashford), Samson Bekele, Steve Davis (Merrow) and Carmen Vadji (New Malden).
Surrey-based Paul Drinkhall (Ashford) came through his Olympic qualifying group to reach the knockout stages, where he lost to Adam Szudi of Hungary.
At the Saudi Smash, Paul Drinkhall got through the group stages but lost in the round of 64 to Romania’s Ovidiu Ionescu.
Joseph Langham-Ferreira was Surrey’s top player in the Senior British League Premier Division on 75% playing for Brighton TTC1.
Other Surrey players playing in the Premier League included Radoslav Kamberov (New Malden), Shaquille Webb Dixon (Wandsworth) and Robert Pelc (Sutton).
At the Gloucester Grand Prix Men’s Open Singles, Surrey-based Radoslav Kamberov lost out at the semi-final stage while Nahom Asgedom was beaten in the quarter-finals.
In the Under 21’s Men’s Singles Howard Oneng lost in the semi-finals.
Two Surrey players were named in the England Squad at the Senior Schools International. Francesco Bonato is competing in the Under-16 Boys’ event and Angad Saggu is competing in the Under-14 Boys’ event.
Angad Saggu reached the quarter-finals of the National Cadet Championships.
The Cadet National Cup Boys event saw Angad Saggu come sixth.
