The body of a man was discovered in a vehicle on the A31 Hog’s Back near Seale today (July 8).
Police officers were called to a lay-by close to the junction with White Lane shortly after 2.30pm following reports by members of the public of a suspicious vehicle.
A cordon was put in place around the vehicle and the Guildford bound carriageway of the A31 between the junctions with White Lane and the A331 roundabout was closed as a precaution.
Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the incident. The death is being treated as unexplained at this stage but is not believed to be suspicious and enquiries remain ongoing.
The A31 is now fully reopened and White Lane is expected to reopen imminently (stated at 7.40 pm).
