When the owner of Sofabed Heaven chose Guildford as the newest location for his showroom, celebrity customers weren’t at the top of his list of reasons.
The Guildford store’s manager, Lynn Salmon, said: “I’m not one to name drop but Anthea Turner came in the other day. She was just passing and noticed a smart cream/grey sofa in the window. She wondered if she could order it in just grey – and, of course, she could.”
The Surrey celebrity, now on TV shopping channel Ideal Home, had discovered the latest shop to open at 19 Tunsgate, a real store to complement a virtual one.
Lynn continued: “We do great business online but we still need the high street as customers really want to try before they buy. Our shop in Littlehampton has been open for five years and the website has been running for over six months. We are opening more showrooms over the South East, the first being here in Guildford.”
The company sells a variety of sofabeds and sofas, both from stock and made-to-order. It specialises in good quality beds that are easy to convert but also allow for a good night’s sleep. Budget ranges are also available.
Lynn continued: “We are also proud of our customer service and knowledgeable staff. Our prices in store are the same as on the internet.”

Would like a 140cm Tokyo sofa bed with large arms but find it difficult when phone not answered.
