Guildford secondary school Kings College is aiming to develop and offer activities at the school for the benefit of the community it serves in Park Barn and Westborough.

Estefania Trisotti and Ella Walding are working with Kings College to develop and offer activites at the schiool for the wider community.

Estefania Trisotti and Ella Walding are working with Kings College to develop and offer activites at the school for the wider community.

It is now asking people to take part in interviews and workshops to help the school offer afternoon, evening and weekend activities.

These activities could be anything from movie nights, community feasts, football, dance, yoga, bingo, quiz nights, games nights, well-being sessions, talks on subjects of interest, and learning how to help your child in maths.

The school is receiving help from two service design students from the Royal College of Art, Ella Walding and Estefania Trisotti, who are very keen to meet with people and find out their ideas.

So far they have interviewed a number of residents and these are the sort of ideas being suggested:

“It would be really great not to worry about cooking tea and just have somewhere to go that is relaxed and have dinner with family and friends.”

“It will be nice to go to the school for activities, it’s local and familiar.”

“How about a movie night once a month?”

“It would be good to have a room where you could stop by to have a cup of tea.”

The school has been awarded a £5,000 grant from Guildford Borough Council’s Project Aspire initiative to develop and offer the activities.

If you are interested in giving your views or finding out more, contact Ella and Estefania through the school on 01483 458956, or via an online survey by clicking on the link here.
