Tractor Driver Seriously Injured in A3 Crash – Witnesses Sought

Police accident signSurrey Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious two vehicle road traffic collision on the southbound carriageway of the A3 between Ockham and Ripley.

At around 10.30am yesterday (Wednesday, June 12) a white box van was in collision with a green tractor and trailer close to Wisley Services. The collision caused the tractor to turn on to its side and come to a stop on the carriageway.

The driver of the tractor, a man believed to be in his fifties, suffered head and abdominal injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service before being taken by ambulance to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

Following the collision police officers closed the southbound carriageway of the A3 at junction 10 on the M25.

Traffic was currently diverted through Ripley while collision investigators examined the scene and the vehicles were removed.
