Person Dies After Being Hit By Train at London Road Station

A person died after being struck by a train in Guildford on Friday afternoon, July 5.

Emergency services were called to London Road station at about 2.30pm after reports of an incident.

The casualty was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police has treated the incident as non-suspicious and officers have been working to identify the person who died.

It meant that there were delays to trains calling at Hinchley Wood, Claygate, Oxshott, Cobham, Horsley, Clandon and London Road stations.

After 4pm the line was re-opened and services had returned to normal by Friday evening.
