Shalford Park on Easter Monday, April 1, will see Guildford Lions put on its traditional Easter event The St Catherine’s Hill Fayre, in aid of local charities.

Jamie, who lives locally, became well known for his appearances on The Big Breakfast, The Really Useful Show and GMTV, followed up by the co-presention of  Pet Rescuers and Pet Rescue Roadshow.

In addition to radio broadcasts, Jamie can be found regularly as “the vet on set” looking after animals used in the film industry and on TV.

The organisers of the show are be looking for as many dogs as possible to be entered by their owners. Registration take place from 11am with judging starting at noon. No fancy rules will apply, just some good fun and a chance to show off your favourite pet. Categories will  range from child’s best friend to golden oldie, and more, including cutest crossbreed.

In keeping with the origins of the old St Catherine’s Hill Fair, which dates back to Guildford life in the Middle Ages, there will be a host of other activities to keep the family entertained and amused. This Easter Monday at Shalford Park under the shadow of St Catherine’s Hill Guildford Lions will create their own 21st-century version.

A monster car boot sale will provide the opportunity for buying and selling a whole range of clothes, bric-a-brac and endless other articles, while other tempting items will be available at the farmers’ market.

There will also be a chance to see scores of gleaming classic cars, and the annual tug ‘o war competition. Children will be well catered for with a range of amusements and for adults there will be a licensed bar to quench your thirst, or you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a burger, if you prefer.
