Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision between the drivers of a black Astra and a white Tesla in Dunsfold yesterday evening (November 24).

A little girl who was a passenger in one of the cars was taken to hospital with serious injuries and, sadly, has since died.

The collision occurred at around 5.25pm at the junction between Chapel Hill and Wrotham Hill. Both roads were closed while an on-site investigation was completed.

Soon afterwards, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, leaving the scene of a road traffic collision, and driving without a valid driving licence.

A police spokesperson said: “The child who was a passenger in one of the cars has sadly since died. Our thoughts are with her family, who are being supported by specialist officers.”

The 20-year-old man has further been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving while uninsured, and causing death by driving while unlicensed. He remains in police custody.
