Car windscreens and house windows were smashed in a wave a vandalism that “wreaked havoc” in many areas of Guildford last night (Tuesday, March 29).
Bricks were thrown at cars and houses, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage. Surrey Police is now appealing for witnesses who may have seen any activity linked to the incidents.
Vandals targeted addresses across the town, including Hazel Avenue, MacDowall Road, Weston Road, Harts Gardens, Beckingham Road, Dorrit Crescent, Clover Road, Yew Tree Drive, Oak Tree Drive, Southway, Henderson Avenue, Rydes Hill Road and Belmont Avenue, using plant pots and bricks as missiles.
Investigating officer PC Jason Anderson said: “We have had numerous reports of criminal damage after vandals wreaked havoc across Guildford on Tuesday, targeting houses and cars with bricks.
“They caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage and massive inconvenience and expensive repair bills for those whose property was targeted.
“I am appealing for anyone with any information to come forward as soon as possible so that we can identify the suspects involved and ensure they are brought to justice.”
