Surrey Police have this afternoon issued an update report on their investigation into the murder of a child in Horsell, Woking.

A police statement said; “Enquiries are ongoing to locate the three identified people we would like to speak to in connection with our investigation into the death of a 10-year-old girl in Woking.

She has been named locally and by the BBC as Sara Sharif.

“Detectives have confirmed that no other people were present at the address when they attended in the early hours of Thursday morning (August 10). The three people they would like to speak to were known to the victim.”

Formal identification of the victim has yet to take place and no arrests have been made. An earlier statement said that three people detectives want to speak to in connection with the incident were believed to have left the UK.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow afternoon (August 15).

Police officers remain at the address whilst the investigation continues.

What I find bizarre is that the mother didn’t have custody of her child, why was the child left with three people alone in her house?

Why is the police not naming publicly the suspects it would make it easier to find them.

Whoever gave sole custody to the father did they make the right decision? Why did the family allow the suspects to run away. Does it mean the father was not at home or his wife when it happened? Or that the suspects that fled are relatives of either of them? Finally who contacted the police?
