A woman was grabbed by a stranger in Guildford in the early hours, this morning (Sunday, November 17) after socialising with friends.
The incident occurred in the Manor Way area, Onslow Village between 4.30 and 4.45am. The offender quickly left the scene when the woman, in her late teens, shouted for help and the occupants of a nearby property came to assist.
Detectives from Guildford CID are now appealing for information.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Jim Strugnell, said: “At this stage in the investigation we do not know the intentions of the offender but the incident is very concerning and we need to find the man responsible.
“The incident has left the victim extremely distressed and we have specialist officers working with her and her family during this very upsetting time, we will do all we can to find the man responsible and bring him to justice.”
The offender is described as a white man, of heavy build, aged between 25 and 35-years-old, with dark hair, a dark coloured beard and a round face. He was wearing a light blue hooded top with the hood up.
A number of enquiries are being made in the local area by uniformed officers and detectives and the police say anyone who has information should share it with them.
