The four-year-old boy who was injured in a road accident on Friday (Jun 14) remains in a serious condition today (Jun 17). The incident occurred near the United Reformed Church on Wonersh Common Road as he was being walked by a relative to a pre-school that is part of the church.
It is understood that paramedics worked for an hour at the scene in Wonersh to stabilise the boy’s condition before he was airlifted to hospital. He suffered serious head injuries and is now reported to be in a London hospital.
One unconfirmed report is that the boy lives locally and that his family have recently moved to the area.
This evening a community speedwatch team was operating in its normal position opposite the United Reformed Church, just yards from the scene of the accident.
The road has a 30 mph restriction but there is no indication that speed was a factor in the incident on Friday.
Police are appealing for witnesses to contact the collision investigation unit on 01483 639922 quoting reference P13175662.
