96.4 Eagle Radio is looking for local people with a story to tell about their memories of the area. And it hopes that readers who enjoy The Guildford Dragon NEWS’s popular Through Time section may be able to help out.
Do you recall going to the Saturday matinee at the former Odeon in Guildford? What did you do on the day of the Queen’s coronation? Perhaps you have memories of the 1968 floods or the long hot summer of 1976?
Wartime memories of the Guildford area would be particularly welcome.
Is there a moment in your local history which you can remember like yesterday? Stories like these and more the Eagle, this area’s local independent radio station, wants to hear about!
Not only will your memories be recorded and, if you wish, be broadcast on the Eagle Extra station, but we hope to make them available to listen to on The Guildford Dragon NEWS as well.

I was born in Guildford (Woodbridge Road), and lived in Stocton Road until 1950. I have many war memories.
I have also have tried to trace our evacuee, Celia Murrell. Does anyone anywhere have any information?
Love the picture of The Avenue (now demolished). My sister is in the picture. When the Avenue was demolished my sister and some friends saved the metal road sign. Any more pictures from those times gone by?
