A man was airlifted to hospital after a stabbing incident in Guildford yesterday afternoon (July 20).

Officers were called to Stoke Park on Nightingale Road at around 4.15pm following a report that a man had been stabbed near the skate park. Emergency services quickly attended the scene and the victim, a man in his teens, was taken by helicopter to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment and is stable.

Two suspects, both described as white males in their teens, fled the scene following the assault. Early this morning (July 21), a 17-year-old from Godalming was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and theft. He was held in custody.

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses and are looking for a second teenager, thought to be aged 16-18.

This is the second stabbing incident in Guildford this month.
