The Guildford Lions Club reports: “A big thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday (July 5) for our charity raft race on the River Wey in Guildford – what a brilliant day!

‘We’re especially grateful to the Mayor of Guildford, Howard Smith, for joining us and helping judge the fantastic rafts.

“The entrant Top Fun Maverick was awarded Best Presented Raft.

“The Black Pearl took Best Presented Youth Raft.

“And Les Holdaway’s Hooks Wet Dream, was the fastest overall – for an incredible 18th year in a row!

“Another thank you goes to Harry Wickens for his brilliant photos.

“What a fun and memorable event! See you next year.”

The event also featured Surrey Care Trust’s duck dash.
