Barchester’s Silverbirch House care home, in Worplesdon, Guildford, was a den of ghoulish activity as the home’s spooky Halloween party got in to full swing.
Residents got in to the spirit of things by carving pumpkins and staff decorated the home. The home’s chef provided grazing boards containing all sorts of tasty treats from hot dogs to edible eyeballs.
Local children were invited to follow the trail to Silverbirch house’s doors by solving clues scattered around Tovey Green and following the illuminated pumpkins back to Silverbirch House. There, they were greeted with goody bags filled with treats and spooky delights for the grown-ups.
General Manager Louise White cackled: “Our staff and residents love any excuse for a party! The home looks fantastic with all the decorations and our head chef did us proud with lots of spooky treats – we’ve all had a brilliant time.”
A spokesperson for Barchester Healthcare said: “The varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
“Silverbirch House is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering high-quality care across its care homes and hospitals. Silverbirch House provides residential care, dementia care and respite care.”
