Broadford Road, which runs between Peasmarsh and Shalford, was closed for two and a half hours this morning because of an accident.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “We were called following a report of a report of a two-vehicle collision in Broadford Road (A248) at the junction with Oakdene Road around 9.10am today (August 4).

“Thankfully, no one was injured as a result of the incident.

“The road was closed in both directions while both vehicles, including a car and a lorry, were recovered. The road was fully reopened by 11.40am.”

Currently, the road is being used as a diversion, including for buses, while the A3100 Portsmouth Road is closed.
