The Haslemere Fringe Festival, a not-for-profit, family-friendly festival run entirely by volunteers, takes place every two years on Lion Green in Haslemere.

This year the festival is on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 3, 4, and 5, and attracts festival-goers from far and wide, including Guildford.

It features several stages with something for audiences of all ages including more than 50 live bands, emerging new and local talent, dance acts, comedy, poetry, children’s entertainment, local artisans and more.

Other acts are: Shakatak, ARXX, Tash Hills, Motex, Beet Root, Watershed, New Horizon and Rogue Awakening.

Saturday and Sunday’s lineup will be announced soon.

Wellness at the Haslemere Fringe Festival.

The organisers say: “First for this year will be the Sunday morning Wellness at the Fringe, from 8.30am to noon, with a dynamic line-up of sessions including revitalising yoga flow to stretch, strengthen and restore, a high energy Dance Fit class, fun family-friendly HIIT (High-Intensivity Interval Training) to fire up the endorphins with deeply relaxing sound bath experiences and thought-provoking talks.”

Friday night will be showcasing comedy from headline comedians and up and coming supports.

It will be hosted by popular local comedian Andy Stedman, a singer-songwriter, comedian, writer and entrepreneur who can be regularly found ripping (gently) into audiences at some of the top comedy clubs across the country.

Comedian Mark Simmons.

Headlining the Fringe Comedy Club will be Mark Simmons, seen on TV’s Mock the Week, BT Sport and ITV – and winner of multiple comedy awards.

Mark is joined by Tania Edwards, a regular on the UK comedy circuit, known for her razor-sharp wit and unique perspective on life.

Next up is Alistair Williams, combining high energy with a charismatic stage presence.

The organisers say: “Vlad Illich is possibly the only comedian originally from Macedonia and working in the UK – giving him a unique and hilarious perspective on the twists and turns of British life!

“He recently celebrated his crowning of British Comedian of the Year – the biggest prize in British comedy!

“Lastly, Jonny Awsum is an award-winning comedian who has charmed audiences all around the world with his high energy performance style and unique brand of musical comedy shooting to national fame on Britain’s Got Talent.”
