Organisers of the annual Combined Charities Christmas Fair, held last Sunday, November 2, in Guildford’s Guildhall, report it was another great success.

The Deputy Mayor of Guildford, Jane Tyson, presents the winner of the National Eczema Society’s Christmas card competition, Mariusz Czajkowski, with his prize.
They report the Deputy Mayor of Guildford, Jane Tyson, joined the festive celebrations and presented a prize to the winner of the National Eczema Society’s Christmas card competition.
The winning design, an evocative photograph of the Christmas decorations in Guildford High Streeet, was taken by Mariusz Czajkowski, who was congratulated by Cllr Tyson.
The fair attracted large crowds keen to enjoy the seasonal atmosphere, take part in games and activities, and support a wide range of local and national charities.
Visitors had the chance to learn more about each charity’s work while stocking up on Christmas cards, gifts, and festive treats.
Thanks to the generosity of the mayor and the sponsors, Cavender estate agents, all monies raised by a charity goes directly to that charity.
Charities taking part included the National Eczema Society, Accessible Boating Association, British Hen Welfare Trust, GUTS, KatCanDo, Meath Epilepsy Charity, MCR Pathways, RSPCA Hants and Surrey Borders, Royal Surrey Charity, The Fountain Centre, and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Cllr Tyson praised the event’s community spirit, saying it was “wonderful to see so many people coming together to support such worthwhile causes.”
