Ash Parish Council will be holding a community event in May to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

The council is inviting residents to the Ash Centre in Ash Hill Road, where people will be encouraged to meet and discuss past experiences, as well as viewing artifacts from the Ash Museum.

The Peace Day Poppy wall will be on display, which marks on a map the names of those from Ash who died in both World Wars.

The event, on Thursday, May 8, will take place between 12 noon and 2 pm and will be free to attend. Light refreshments will be available.

The council requests that those wishing to attend should confirm their attendance by contacting the Ash Parish Council office on 01252 328287 or by emailing office@ashpcsurrey.gov.uk.
