Bishop Andrew Visits Effingham And Little Bookham Churches

The Bishop of Guildford, the Rt Revd Andrew Watson, attended All Saints Church, Little Bookham on Sunday, August 5, where he baptised Louis James White, who had been born on June 25.

The Bishop of Guildford, the Rt Revd Andrew Watson, with the Revd Mandy MacVean, walking the Bishop’s Walk between All Saints and St Lawrence Churches on Sunday August 5.

After the baptism the congregation walked the quarter mile path, known locally as the Bishop’s Walk, to St Lawrence Church, Effingham, to continue the service with Holy Communion.

After the service everyone was invited to a celebratory picnic in the St Lawrence Church Hall gardens.

The celebration was to mark the coming together of both churches which now have one rather than two parochial church councils.
